“Take part for one season (or four months) as a competitive individual or as a member of an organized team in TWO sports.”

The first sport I picked was soccer. I played a total of 8 seasons of soccer over a span of 5 years. Training for the most recent season included twice-a-week Renegade Soccer drills in the pre-season and twice-a-week 1.5-hour practices for the on-season.

The second sport I picked was martial arts. I began karate in January of 2016 and continue to this day. I train twice a week on techniques, plus 4-5 times a week pushups, pull-ups, and back exercises.
After about a year of taking private classes, I tested and passed my black belt test on February 28th, 2021. It took me a total of 5 years to earn my black belt. I currently repeat this test weekly, to make sure I don’t forget it.
In addition to continuing karate, I am also in the process of finding a second style. As part of this process I have trained in Wushu Kung Fu. I averaged 4 classes a week for a month, plus my karate training listed above. I liked Wushu because it was fun and emphasized stretching to provide exceptional flexibility.
The second style I trained in and evaluated was Hapkido. I trained twice a week for 2 months. In these two months, I received a belt promotion. In Hapkido, I liked how it was a very practical and effective style. Everything I learned could be applied for self-defense in a real-world situation.
The third style I trained in and evaluated was Shaolin Kung Fu. I trained in this style once a week for 6 months. I liked how Shaolin flows really well and the forms look really cool when done correctly.
I will also train in and evaluate Taekwondo.
